The NYSC gives all Northfield children the opportunity to participate in sports activities regardless of family income.
The NYSC motto is "there is a way, if a child wants to play."
The Northfield Youth Sports Collaborative was founded in 2003 after local sports organizations realized that low-income students were not participating in their programs. The sports organizations joined together to reach out to assist these families. As the requests for scholarships increased, some sports were unable to directly cover the costs, and an agreement was established for a common scholarship pool.
Since 2004 the NYSC as proveded over 950 scholarships to youth from low-income families in eight different sports organizations.
All donations are received and receipted by Razoo Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) charity that operates a donor advised fund to fulfill donor advisements.
