N.I.P. Youth & Family Support Programs

For close to 40 years, the Neighborhood Involvement Program (N.I.P.) Youth Programs have been offered to at-risk children in Minneapolis. The majority of these children and youth come from low-income, single parent families, are children of color and qualify for the free/reduced lunch program. Volunteers in N.I.P.’s Youth Programs dedicate their time, energy and expertise to tutoring and mentoring students. The Youth Program Staff is based out of our North Minneapolis office at the Center for Families. The majority of services are delivered at various Minneapolis Public School locations. The goal of the N.I.P.’s Youth Programs is to engage youth by empowering them with skills to succeed academically and socially. This is accomplished, in part, by providing healthy relationships and social support to at-risk youth and integrative support services to their families.
