Young heroes, ages 2-18, collect pledges and complete a 2.5 mile trek for the SE MN American Red Cross Heroes Campaign.
On Saturday, June 16th, 2012, area youth will run, jog, or walk from the West Jaycee Park in Kasson to Mantorville's Riverside Park. In support of their efforts, these young people will collect pledges from family, friends, and area businesses with the goal of meeting our fundraising target of $2500!!! This event is part of a larger Heroes Campaign conducted annually by the SE MN Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. at the West Jaycee Park with the event scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. A minimum pledge of $20 per participant will be collected at the time of registration. Youth may register as individuals or as part of a team of up to 10 youth participants with a minimum of $200 in pledges.
A free lunch for participants and supporters will be served at the finish line, as well as music by Good Vibrations and lots of prizes for top individual and team pledge earners.
In its sixth year, this event has been coordinated by the staff and families of Just Like Home School Age Child Care in Kasson. This year, Precious 'Lil People Daycare has generously joined in the planning efforts. In the first five years of this event, participants have raised nearly $15,000 for the American Red Cross. This could not have happened without the very generous support of many area businesses and individuals. You have all been essential in the success that these youth have had in achieving Super Hero status with the American Red Cross.
In addition to monetary donations, individual and team prizes, as well as food donations for the Young Heroes lunch are greatly appreciated. If you have additional questions regarding participation or how you can make a donation to this event, you may call Marlo Bungum at 634-6365, or email me at email@example.com.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
