Make a Gift

With a contribution to Yinghua Academy Foundation you help us teach tomorrow's global citizens: Minnesota students, fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese, rigorously educated following the Core Knowledge Sequence and Minnesota State Standards and nurtured in a supportive K-8 charter public school environment. These children will go far, and Minnesota will benefit from their international perspective and sound academic preparation. When they leave Yinghua, our graduates will be successful, college-bound high school students. Their contributions to our world will make it a better place.

Your donation will help us meet our 2011-12 goal of raising $81,000 to support Yinghua Academy's outstanding educational program. The school's cutting-edge curriculum development is recognized nationally and internationally for its effectiveness leading to bi-literacy in Mandarin Chinese and English for all students. Our students build both subject area knowledge and Mandarin fluency from year to year.

Buzz About the School

The vision of Yinghua Academy has garnered international attention. In 2009, Yinghua was featured in a TIME magazine article about Chinese language schools and the Asia Society released a video on language immersion programs which also included a feature on Yinghua Academy.

How Funds Are Used

• Partnerships between Yinghua and Twin Cities cultural organizations are the first area of support. Our parent teacher organization believes strongly in taking advantage of the rich cultural offerings of our urban environment. The school’s partnerships enhance the curriculum and take advantage of the wide range of available cultural resources.
• General Fund support is the other area where your donations will be applied. All Minnesota public schools face challenges this year with the State “holdback” of school funding, but the situation is harder on charter public schools because we do not have access to the lower interest rates available to traditional public schools. Your donation will help ensure the continued financial health of a remarkable school that TIME Magazine describes as "on the leading edge of a movement... where elementary students of every ethnicity study subjects ranging from math to American history in Mandarin."
• Yinghua Academy is committed to bring music and art to enrich our children’s education. We are hoping to help fund the new Orchestra and Arts Integrated curriculum programs with your contributions.
