"As much as you have done this to the least of these...you have done it to me." Jesus Arrive Ministries

In cooperation with the local Church, Arrive Ministries envisions refugees transformed economically, socially, and spiritually.

Since 1988 Arrive Ministries (formerly World Relief Minnesota), in partnership with local churches, has welcomed more than 9,000 persecuted refugees of the world who have come to Minnesota to begin a new life of freedom and safety with their families. Arrive Ministries provides a variety of direct services to refugee and immigrant families, including:

  1. Reception and Placement – welcoming families at the airport, orientation, provide initial core social services, arrange housing, gather furniture, clothing and food.
  2. Employment Services – job search assistance, interview preparation, access to vocational training programs and referrals to other social services.
  3. Cash Assistance for up to eight months as refugees seek employment.
  4. Legal Services related to immigration, family reunification and citizenship
  5. Citizenship Classes
  6. Refugee Community Gardens

Arrive Ministries believes that local congregations offer the best context for assisting the poor to overcome their lack of opportunities and to offer hope and life. Just as Jesus cared for the poor, widows, and orphans, Christians can make a lasting impact in the lives of refugees. Our investment in real friendships is a powerful expression of our faith and love for God. Arrive Ministries empowers, equips, and strengthens churches to serve their communities, enabling them to act as beacons of hope and of the life-changing power of Jesus Christ. Currently we are partnering with some 60 churches and their volunteers to:

  • Teach English to immigrants (Somali Adult Literacy Training - SALT)
  • Build on-going relationships between Somali immigrants and American families (Rajo Ministries)
  • Befriend and mentor a refugee family during their first year in the U.S. (RLM- Refugee Life Ministries)
  • Provide furniture and winter coats as part of Welcome Kits for new refugees.
  • Provide Church Refugee Garden plots to help families grow their own food.

Our Refugee Life Ministry (RLM) program has a $15,000 matching grant opportunity which will enable us to train and equip even more church teams to work with newly arriving refugees. We have 16 church teams who have welcomed new refugee families since January. The matching funds will be used to expand, train and mobilize even more teams. Gifts given to Refugee Life Ministries are eligible to be matched.

Please Note: IF YOU WANT TO DESIGNATE YOUR GIFT TO A SPECIFIC MINISTRY AREA (RLM, SALT, RAJO, etc) PLEASE USE THE DESIGNATION FEATURE BEFORE YOU CHECK-OUT....submitting your desired amount through the "Make a Donation" box to the right.
