Wicoie Nandagikendan Immersion Program will be hosting it's 8th Annual Dakota & Ojibwe Language & Cultural Camp on August 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

The Preschool/Youth Language and culture camp was originally developed by the Alliance of Early Childhood Professionals Native Leaders Circle in 2004 to support early childhood native language learning in the Twin Cities area. The Native American Leader's Circle also created the Dakota Ojibwe Language Revitalization Alliance (DOLRA), a statewide support group created to advocate for Native Languages in the state of MN. In 2006, Wicioe Nandagikendan preschool language immersion program was developed in partnership with early childhood programs in the South Minneapolis area. Wicoie Nandagikendan currently has two High Five immersion classrooms, one Dakota and one Ojibwe, located at Anishinabe Academy, a Minneapolis Public School. Wicoie Nandagikendan also has an Ojibwe preschool classroom in partnership with the Family Partnerships' Four Directions Family Center, also located in South Minneapolis.
