A verified US-registered nonprofit
Help the International Dyslexia Association, Upper Midwest Branch support individuals with dyslexia and language-based learning disorders!
The International Dyslexia Association, Upper Midest Branch (IDA-UMB) is one of 48 International Dyslexia Association branches worldwide, and serves the areas of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Manitoba, Canada.
As the definitive resource of information related to dyslexia, language-based learning disorders, and literacy acquisition, we work to increase awareness and understanding of these disabilities, encourage early and accurate assessment and diagnosis, encourage and facilitate the use of scientific research-based instructional methodologies, and bridge social, educational, and cultural gaps to improve language acqusition for the success of all learners.
We believe:
Effective reading instruction is a right, not a privilege;
All individuals have the right to achieve their potential;
Social, educational, and cultural barriers to language acquisition must be removed;
In effective, scientifically based instruction, educational intervention strategies for individuals with dyslexia, and interdisciplinary research;
In the wide dissemination of research-based knowledge;
In the preparation and continued education of parents, educators, and other professionals to provide effective reading instruction for all.
Your tax-exempt contributions will allow us to provide additional speaker events and workshops to our region, provide expanded programming, and offer scholarship funding for those individuals who could not otherwise attend our annual conference.
