A project of JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER OF GREATER MINNEAPOLIS
Help us provide top quality care, programming for children and staff development for our teachers.
The Sabes JCC Early Childhood Center (ECC) has been serving children ages six weeks through Prekindergarten for over 50 years!
Currently, providing care for 110 children, the ECC strives to provide an inclusive, Jewish environment, while meeting the guidelines set forth by the National Association for the Education of Young Children regarding five interrelated dimensions of early childhood professional practice. We seek to foster within the children a positive self-concept, a joy for learning, and the ability to work and play well with others. We value the diversity of our families and our staff. We respect differences among our children and families and we strive to teach to each child’s strengths. We are passionate about recognizing that our children have many facets and interests that need to be addressed including: physical needs, social and emotional needs, spiritual needs, and cognitive needs.
In the past number of years due to tight budgets and a struggling economy, many of the routine improvements that child care programs need to implement in order to maximize success have not been funded. To ensure that we can continue to provide the best early childhood education experience for the children we are serving, these improvements can no longer wait. We must replace toy shelves, napping cots, and dramatic play structures such as kitchen sets that are over 10 years old. To create a more vibrant environment, we must remodel the main hallway space of the school in a way that infuses Jewish themes and values. To guarantee we are providing top quality care, we must reinvest with community partners to provide programming for children and staff development for our teachers.
Your support of this designated giving opportunity will help the JCC’s Early Childhood Center to implement these important updates to best serve the children entrusted into our care and their families.
