We work to advance the common good by focusing on the building blocks of a good life: education, income & health.

ADVANCING THE COMMON GOOD means creating opportunities for a better life for everyone. When you reach out a hand to one, you influence the condition of all. We all win when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable and when people have good health. These successes have benefits that ripple throughout a community.

WHEN YOU GIVE TO UNITED WAY

  • You do more than just feed people, you work to address the larger issue of poverty.
  • You do more than just provide books to children, you change the number of kids entering kindergarten ready to learn.
  • You do more than just help people live healthy lives. You change the face of healthcare by decreasing chronic disease.

OUR GOALS ARE BOLD

EDUCATION-We are working to ensure all children have access to a preschool education, have academic success. We are working to increase graduation rates. Putting books from the Dolly Parton Imagination Library Progam into the hands of children and equiping parents/caregivers to promote early literacy are key components.

INCOME- We are working to help families achieve long-term financial stability. We provide the safety net services everyone needs: food, clothing and shelter. We are increasing self-sufficiency for our senior citizens.

HEALTH- We are working to decrease chronic disease through physical activity and nutrition. We are working to ensure everyone has access to mental health services and dental services.

There is such a need for the "packing for the weekends" program. Thankfully, United Way is taking action to help hungry children have some meals on the weekends so that they can do well in school on Mondays!
