Tom Shaver's Sleep Out
Tom Shaver fundraising for Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners
The Sleep Out is IOCP’s largest fundraising event, and this year’s goal is to raise $1.95 million to help local families achieve stability.
Since 1979, Interfaith Outreach & Community Partner (IOCP) has worked to meet basic needs for families in eight suburban Minneapolis communities. This year marks the 17th Sleep Out, an annual campaign sponsored by IOCP to raise awareness about housing, employment, child care, food and transportation needs.
The campaign begins with a kick-off event on Saturday, Nov. 10 at Klapprich Park in Wayzata, Minn. At the kick-off event, community members who have gathered pledges sleep out in a tent or box, simulating what some families experience each day. Donations can be made up until the end of the campaign on Dec. 31, 2012.
I have served as an IOCP Board member for the past two years but this year marks my first time participating in the Sleep Out to support the organizations efforts.
Please help support this great cause.
