THE NAKED I: WIDE OPEN (world premiere)

The 20% Theatre Company Twin Cities is known locally and nationally for our ground-breaking productions of new plays, and inclusion/promotion of women and transgender artists in theatre. In nearly 6 years we have produced 18 plays, providing opportunities to over 300 local and national LGBTI artists and allies, and touching the lives of over 6,000 audience members.

Inspired by our ground-breaking, sold-out 2009 production of The Naked I: Monologues From Beyond The Binary by transgender playwright, Tobias K. Davis, this winter we will be producing The Naked I: Wide Open - a brand new play made up of monologues and short scenes, featuring the talents of over 50 local transgender/gender non-conforming artists and allies. Fresh, sexy, humorous, gut-punching, and unbelievably honest stories that you don’t want to miss.

20% Theatre is dedicated to paying all of the artists we with with, as well as keeping ticket prices quite low - with a "no one is turned away due to lack of funds" policy.

Because of this, there is no way that we can survive on ticket sales alone, and are asking our friends, family, fans and followers to consider making a donation to help pay the artists working on this incredible world premiere.

As of December 7, 2011, 20% Theatre is able to commit to paying each and every artist (there are over 60!) working on The Naked I: Wide Open a stipend of $50. We would like to double that, if not triple it - but need your help to make that happen! All money raised through this project fund on givemn.org will be split evenly among the artists involved in the show, down to the last penny!
