The Rose Ensemble

Who we are:

The Rose Ensemble is an award-winning musical group that tours internationally with repertoire spanning 1,000 years and 25 languages including new research in European, Middle Eastern, and American vocal traditions. Through beautiful and rarely-performed music, The Rose Ensemble helps audiences experience the sounds of centuries past, revitalized with joy and spirit. The Rose Ensemble annually presents a mainstage concert season in Minneapolis-St. Paul, a Greater Minnesota tour, and an ongoing program of free music workshops for K-12 students.

Accomplishments:

-The group has been invited to prestigious choral festivals in Europe every year since 2004, and tours regularly throughout the United States.

-The Rose Ensemble has released nine highly-acclaimed recordings which are often heard on National Public Radio and the European Broadcasting Union.

-The Rose Ensemble is the recipient of the 2005 Chorus America Margaret Hillis Award for Choral Excellence, won first-place at the 2007 Tolosa International Choral Competition in Spain, and was invited to represent the U.S. at the Ninth World Choral Symposium in Argentina in 2011.

-Founder and Artistic Director Jordan Sramek is the recipient of the prestigious 2010 Louis Botto Award for Innovative Action and Entrepreneurial Zeal.

Ticket sales cover just 18% of The Rose Ensemble's annual operating costs. Our concerts, workshops and recordings are possible only with the generous support of grantmakers and individuals. This season, thanks to a challenge from the Katherine B. Andersen fund of The St. Paul Foundation and the generosity of special donors, your gift will be matched up to $10,000. Here's how:

-if you're a new donor, your gift will be doubled.

-if you increase your gift over last year's, the difference will be doubled.

-if you didn't give last year, but you have in the past, your gift will be doubled.
