Nobody expects to have their lives turned upside-down by a burn injury, either to themselves or to a loved one, yet every day people are forced into such difficult circumstances. That is why our community needs a place like The Burn Center at Regions Hospital, a place with the specialized expertise to treat the very worst burns, the heart to care for the wounded spirits of its patients and visitors, and the time to educate them so that they can navigate their new lives.

The Burn Center can do all this because we have generous partners like you who help us pay for special programming not covered by everyday revenue. Working together, the Burn Center is a model of care recognized nationally and internationally, yet serves folks who live in our very own community.

The Burn Center offers the highest quality medical care for burn injuries

The Burn Center provides specialized treatment for thermal, electrical and chemical burns, among other conditions. The center’s staff has extensive experience in the treatment of burn injuries. Many are national leaders in burn treatment, research and rehabilitation and offer patients the most up-to-date care.

From the time of injury through rehabilitation, the needs of patients and their loved ones are addressed in one area of the hospital, our Burn Center. The center was specially designed with the latest equipment to help patients recover from burn injuries. For example, several private critical care rooms are individually temperature-controlled to keep patients comfortable. We also use specially-designed bathtubs to provide comfort for people with burn injuries and have a large rehabilitation department designed specifically for their needs.

Regions Hospital is verified as a regional burn center by the American Burn Association through the American College of Surgeons. That means we are committed to meeting stringent standards of care for patients.

Charitable donations allows us to heal the mind, body and spirit of patients

The Burn Center uses charitable donations to fill the gaps in care not covered by day-to-day revenue. Besides funding patient care equipment such as additional hydrotherapy tubs, donations are used to help meet the emotional and educational needs of patients by funding a burn survivor representative, a family burn camp, a program to help young burn victims re-enter school and much more.

We need your help now more than ever. The downturned economy has forced governments to slash special assistance programs that serve our most financially vulnerable populations, and these cuts have disproportionally affected hospitals like Regions that serve a larger percent of such populations.
