Technology Integration Workshop

BestPrep's Technology Integration Workshop is designed to help educators improve their technology skills and abilities in order to improve their curriculum through the use of technology. The workshop provides teachers with innovative and stimulating ideas, thereby providing students with relevant, purposeful and interactive curriculum, making learning more fun and interesting. Each teacher attending the workshop brings a previously taught lesson plan and leaves with a new and improved lesson, enhanced by technology. Each lesson plan created at the workshop is uploaded on BestPrep’s website and can be accessed by teachers across the state. Teachers gain experience with help from Technology Integration Specialists who lead the participants through a variety of sessions and speakers and guide them as they learn and implement technology skills and tools. Another unique component of the workshop is a half-day job shadow with a volunteer Business Partner. By integrating the knowledge they attain at the workshop, the teachers provide educational access and content into their classrooms. By spending time in a professional setting examining the skills needed for success in today’s business world, teachers are better prepared to provide these skills to their students to best prepare them for the future. The 2011 Technology Integration Workshop was hosted by the University of St. Thomas and was attended by 63 teachers.
