Smile Network International provides life-altering surgeries to impoverished children and young adults around the world.

SMILE NETWORK INTERNATIONAL is a Minnesota-based, non-profit organization devoted to changing the lives of impoverished children with cleft lips and palates by providing them with free operations.

Since 2003, we have provided all-volunteer teams of doctors and nurses from throughout the United States, Canada, Latin American and Europe to perform these surgeries in mission sites in Mexico, Guatemala, Ecuador, Peru, Armenia, India, Uganda, and Kenya.

Smile Network is obsessively prudent with donor’s money. The American Institute of Philanthropy rates as “highly efficient” any organization that spends 75% or more of its total expenses on charitable programs. Our audited financial statements from fiscal year 2010 show that Smile Network currently spends 89% on program services.

Since 2003 Smile Network surgical teams have performed thousands of surgeries - all provided at no cost. Our volunteers donate all of their time and medical companies provide many of our supplies. But we still must pay for travel, lodging, medicines, and staff, which bring our average cost for a procedure to $500.
