SKI GULL INC

Ski Gull is a rural downhill ski facility that operates 14 miles NW of Brainerd, MN. Its primary mission is to teach 6th grade kids how to ski. To date, some 26,000 kids from the area have learned to ski at Ski Gull and many have carried their new healthy lifestyle into adulthood. In addition to the 6th grade program, Ski Gull and its 200 volunteers provide ski and snowboard camps for kids of all ages.

Lift tickets, concessions and tubing generates about 65% of the needed revenue to operate the facility and current educational programs. The remaining 35% comes from donations and grants. Capitol improves or new programs require additional funding sources. Our DONATION PROJECTS (targeted areas) for 2012 are twofold:

1. ADAPTIVE PROGRAM: Childhood Obesity is a becoming a big problem. Kids don’t fit into boots, or they are unable to get up on their own after falling. We need more equipment, from boots, to harnesses to sleds to give these kids a chance to participate.
2. SNOW GROOMER: The groomer is vital to creating and maintaining a safe and fun hill. It allows the park to operate even if mother nature does not cooperate with heavy snow fall. Our current groomer is 16 years old and on its last years of service.
