Sibley Bike Depot's a non-profit bike shop helping get people on bikes to use for transportation purposes!

Support Sibley Bike Depot on Give to the Max day November 16, and your contribution will be matched by 50 cents for every dollar you contribute thanks to a generous Sibley Donor! (up to $5,000 contributed)

With your support in 2012, Sibley Bike Depot can continue our many community bike programs, including:

  • Sibley’s Junior Mechanics program, where youth can learn bike maintenance and fix up a bike to keep for themselves in the process; we’re strengthening our partnership with the St. Paul Public Schools and offering accredited classes in bike maintenance and physical education;
  • An expanded Youth Apprenticeship program growing from 6 to 8 youth and providing year round employment for youth to work in our shop, learn bike repair skills, think critically about bike and transportation systems, and help co-teach classes for youth and adults;
  • Community Partners Bike Library, providing 220 bicycles for 6-month loan to low-income and under-served community members through out 19 different partner organizations in Minneapolis and St. Paul
  • Development of the Seward Community Bike Walk Center, a community bike shop launching in the Seward neighborhood of South Minneapolis in May 2012;
  • Free Open Shop, offering tools, space, and expert assistance in bicycle repair year-round;
  • Donation of bicycles to various community partners including 50 bicycles for the St. Paul Promise Neighborhood this fall.

As a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organization working to build a bicycling movement in the Twin Cities, we rely on acts of generosity and kindness for our organization to survive and thrive. Thank you for your interest in Sibley Bike Depot!

    I attended a free class at Sibley and learned so much! Half of the tools at the work benches were so foreign to me, but I soon learned to put them to good use. I gained a lot of confidence in my skills and I now know how to do basic maintenance thanks to Sibley. The staff is so friendly and helpful that I feel it is only right to give back to this great organization.

    Sibley put on the workshop for adults to learn how to ride a bike, where I learned how to ride a bike! I'm 31, and it's the best feeling ever to get around these fabulous cities by bike. This is an absolutely priceless gift that Sibley gave me, and I'm so happy to work on returning the favor!

    I love Sibley Bike Depot. They build community, promote bikes, help people become self-sufficient in bike repair, and are really good at what they do. Every time I go there, I fall in love all over again. :-)
