Sherburne County Area United Way

For more than forty years, Sherburne County Area United Way has been proudly serving Big Lake, Elk River, Otsego, Princeton, Santiago, and Zimmerman. We work to unite people and resources to impact lives in the Sherburne County area, and our goal is to create long lasting changes that prevent problems from happening in the first place.

One way we do this is to fund over thirty programs done by local agencies such as Rum River Health Services, Central MN Council on Aging, and Elk River YMCA. Through partnering with local agencies, Sherburne County Area United Way is able to use donor dollars most effectively so they have the greatest impact.

In the summer of 2011, Sherburne County Area United Way also started our own original programming to benefit youth in the community. We had four camps over the summer that helped middle-schoolers learn self-reliance skills, communication skills and self confidence. In 2012, we hope to bring this programming to local school districts and work with youth who are falling through the cracks.
