We offer FREE Medicare & Rx drug counseling to seniors, FREE tax prep for low income families & FREE household goods for families in need.
Since 1973 Seven County has been working to improve the lives of senior citizens in east central Minnesota through a number of programs and services. Over the years, our Senior Partners Care program has saved low-income seniors millions of dollars in doctor & hospital costs. Our free income tax preparation service has served thousands of low-income individuals since its inception in 1991. With our One More Time thrift store we annually provide direct assistance to families in need with FREE clothing and household goods. The store also serves a valuable purpose from a recycling standpoint, giving useable goods a "2nd life" by cleaning and reselling donated merchandise to the public at a fraction of its retail value. A number of regional merchants also offer discounts on items like durable medical goods and dental services to members of Seven County. Our organization also offers monthly Defensive Driving refresher courses (55 Alive classes) which allows seniors to qualify for a signifcant discount on their auto insurance.
Seven County has also been a leader in senior advocacy since it inception, working on issues like Medicare reform, Social Security protection, prescription drug price reform, property tax reform, affordable housing and more. Three other similar organizations have now partnered with Seven County to create the Greater Minnesota Health Care Coalition (GMHCC - 2003) to address the issue of affordable and accessible healthcare for citizens of rural Minnesota. Geographically the GMHCC covers almost half of Minnesota and has over 4,000 dues paying members.
Senior citizens and low-income families in rural Minnesota are at the heart of the work done by Seven County and its allied organizations. All support is welcome. Thank you for considering us as a worthy recipient of your donation.
