Second Chance Animal Rescue
A US registered nonprofit
Mission
Second Chance Animal Rescue was founded in 1994. It is an all-volunteer organization. The foundation of Second Chance is to provide homeless dogs and cats with a second chance at life and companionship. We value the life of each animal we encounter. We work with animal control facilities and private rescue efforts to save as many animals as possible.
Programs
Second Chance operates through relationships with local veterinarians and volunteer foster homes. All animals that come into our program are vet checked, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, wormed, feline-leukemia or heartworm checked. Then they go into volunteer foster homes that work with each animal on their individual needs until permanent adoptive homes are found. We screen all potential adopters in order to find the best home. Adopters are required to sign a contract regarding the care and treatment of the animal and to return it to our program if they can no longer keep it. We place ads in local newspapers and hold adoption events at local pet supply stores to find potential adopters.

This is a great organization that found a little 8 pound older girl wandering the streets and then found our home to spend some pampered years in.

Second chance has saved so many homeless dogs (and cats) that otherwise would have been put to sleep. These animals have become cherished family members to countless people. In return they have been given a second chance.
