CAP assists and empowers people to achieve social and economic well-being by providing services in partnership with our communities.

Community Action Partnership of Scott Carver Dakota counties (CAP) is a leading suburban nonprofit organization with offices in Shakopee and Rosemount. that takes a comprehensive, lean-forward approach to advocating and empowering self-sufficiency for our neighbors. We are driven to deliver individualized solutions through relevant, innovative local pro- grams and partnerships that better connect our neighbors with resources they need to move forward and measurably strengthen the communities we serve.

We offer 24 programs and services to individuals of all ages living in Scott, Carver and Dakota counties. All of these programs fall under five areas of focus:

The CAP Agency focuses on Impact, and how our connection to the community improves lives. In 2013, we:

  • Positively enhanced the lives of over 50,000 people
  • Provided over 1,000,000 pounds of food to our neighbors
  • Prepared and delivered over 110,000 nutritious meals to seniors
  • Warmed more than 8,000 homes
  • Enhanced education for more than 500 children
  • Provided 800 Back to School backpacks with essential supplies
  • Brightened the Holiday season with gifts for over 4,000 children
  • Supplied 250 families with affordable housing
  • Provided 2400 hours of crisis nursery care
  • Answered more than 28,000 calls for emergency information and referrals
  • Coordinated almost 1900 volunteers with over 70,000 hours of impact
  • Distributed over $2 million in vouchers for food, car repair, prescriptions, fuel and housing/rent assistance
