School Supplies For Africa

When I read how the war had affected the children in Africa, I wanted to reach out and give them hope and encouragement. I started a Liberian Chapter to create partnerships to support and help the people in Africa and then opened a Child Development Center that provides food, clothes, a safe place, an education and play therapy.

We started serving 250 children and as the word of the Center spread, more and more children started coming. We now serve over 400 street children and are in desperate need of school supplies.

Please help me fill and send 4 barrels full of school supplies to the Center which is located 300 miles outside of Monrovia. You can help by giving a donation or collecting items and sending them to Kids For A Better World (5130 65th Ave. N. Brooklyn Center). We also need donations to help cover the cost of sending a large barrel full of supplies ($250 per barrel).

School Supplies Needed include:

• notebooks
• pencils
• erasers
• pencil sharpeners.

These are the basics they need, but feel free to add to the supplies.

UPDATE: Thank You for helping me to send 3 barrels full of school supplies for 2010. Our goal for 2011 is to fill 4 barrels with the much needed school supplies for the children at the Center. We need your donations to fill the barrels and the funds to send the barrels. Consider adopting a barrel.
