Help offset the travel costs associated with bringing students to environmental education programs at the Audubon Center of the North Woods.
As you know, school budgets are being drastically slashed. It is becoming more and more difficult, if not impossible, for schools to provide their students with meaningful educational off-site trips. These types of experiences often provide students with greater learning opportunities than classrooms alone.
Many times, the cost of transporting a class of students is the deal breaker - it simply isn't 'in the budget'. We feel that the K-12 environmental education program at the Audubon Center of the North Woods can truly be a life-changing experience for students and is too valuable to be missed. Although we are located just 90 miles from the Twin Cities and St. Cloud and 70 miles from Duluth, the cost of gas can be substantial. The national average for a school bus is only 8-10 miles per gallon!
Please help us provide travel funds to struggling schools so our high quality environmental learning experiences are accessible to every child, with programming in natural history and science, team-building, adventure programming, and outdoor/environmental education.
