Thank you for your generosity on Give to the Max Day. Your donations of $9,620 gets us on stage at the McKnight Theater in January 2012!
Art matters because we matter.
Dance, like laughter is a fundamental part of who we are. We were born to create and dance allows us to engage our whole selves in sharing our thoughts, calming our fears, and chasing our dreams.
Dancers tell our stories. They give us the ability to shape our everyday lives and tell who we are not just what we do.
The creation of dance requires artists and an audience—it gives us a reason to connect with each other in a shared language.
About Saint Paul City Ballet
Over the last four years, the growth of Saint Paul City Ballet’s Company, School, and community programs has shown us we are headed in the right direction. We believe we are poised to establish the foundation we have been seeking to create: a sustainable organization that can continue developing and celebrating talent for many years to come, contributing to the local culture and quality of life.
Focusing on long-term stability, SPCB continues to employ professional dancers and has planned a full season of performances. We have cultivated a faculty which includes working professionals whose collective wisdom and unified style raises the barre for students who are our future. Beyond the studio walls SPCB has invested in the students of Washington Technology Magnet and are now warmly referred to as “partners” in arts education in the St. Paul public schools through the Outreach program.
We can’t do it alone. Our donors make it possible for Saint Paul City Ballet to continue performances of beloved ballets, contemporary choreography, and explore collaborations which bring ballet to new audiences. We also develop and discover new artists through exemplary training and progressive outreach. We are proud to be your company, and we look forward to many golden hours spent with you at the ballet.
"Thank you for keeping us dancing." Jennifer Rockwell, Principal Artist SPCB and Instructor SPCB School
"Like you, I care about Saint Paul City Ballet. I want you to know I believe in giving every performance and class I teach my all. I am passionate about ballet and every day pursue the artistry that will make every performance an exceptional experience for my audience. But I can't make a performance happen on my own. Your support is one of the core elements that keeps this extraordinary art form alive. Your generous contributions keep me dancing and make it possible for young dancers to have future careers. The curtain goes up because of you."
