A project of Minnesota Community Foundation
Providing grants to enhance student learning in St. Louis Park Public Schools.
Since 2004, the Saint Louis Park Public Schools Foundation has been partnering with teachers and staff to enhance learning for the students of St. Louis Park. We have awarded more than a quarter-million dollars in grants to over 100 teachers and programs, focusing on arts, math & science, reading, and transitions. These grants have touched the lives of students throughout the district. Great programs, from family literacy program materials for Early Childhood/Community Education, to career services and college application process tools at SLP High School, were all made possible by these grants.
Making a Mark in Early Childhood Education: Grant Funds Creative Play Materials
To SLP Public Schools Foundation: Thank you so much for the Creative Play Grant of $3,000 for the year 2011-2012. This money was a tremendous asset to three Creative Play Classrooms for 8 staff and 110 children.
Here are some of the wonderful materials we purchased that enhanced student readiness for kindergarten in math and science, vocabulary enhancement, diversity and language and literacy:
All of the materials were used and are shared among all of the classrooms. In addition, we were able to send staff to a Diversity Workshop that enhanced their awareness of cultural diversity.
We appreciate the opportunity to enhance our classrooms and programs with the materials that this Creative Play Program offers.
The staff, parents and children again say, “Thank you!”
