I have run a marathon to benefit wolves all over the world!

April 19, 2010 :

Total raised is $1,130 US Dollars! Thank you to all my supporters!!!!!!!!!!

April 1, 2010 Update:

The running went well. First 3 hours were simple, I was able to keep the right pace and passed a few people. Nobody passed me!!! And that feels good..

There was a heavy part with a sand-road, but the view was beautifull, I saw nice goats and sheep…

After 3 hours it started to be painfull, I felt sick and got a cramp in one of my legs. I found it hard to keep up the right tempo…

But thinking of running for the wolves really helped me: I imagined that my running could save the last wolf…and I found new strength to go on…

My time: 4;00;42…I was the 7th women out of 20, and 3rd in my class….pretty good!

Thank you for all of your support and well wishes (and thank you Facebook fans!)

Joanne

P.S. There is still time to donate! Your help is greatly appreciated.

Original post: My name is Johanna Buijink and I'm from the Netherlands. I am going to be running my first Marathon called: Drents Friese Wold Marathon, which is through a beautiful forest. The Date: March 27th, 2010 in Diever.

I love nature and I just love wolves......breathtaking beautiful hunters. It's not something I can explain, but I admire them for their free spirit. When I look at a wolf it makes me want to be one with nature again, and I feel a huge responsibility to protect nature from human damage. I just want to ensure a safe passage for wolves in this world.

Therefore I want to give all my strength and all my breath by running a Marathon! You can support me to complete this task, by donating money to the International Wolf Center. Please help me reach my goal: Run the wolf to their freedom. With your help we can tell the world that wolves also have rights to live on this earth, just as much as we have!

Thank you for your support!
