Your support helps the Roseville String Ensemble bring quality music to the community with free performances in easily accessible venues.
The Roseville String Ensemble, founded in 1998, is a community string orchestra. We perform three free public concerts each year in Roseville, including fall and spring concerts and an annual community carol sing. The ensemble presents a variety of string orchestra and chamber orchestra repertoire, from Baroque concerti grossi to several contemporary works commissioned especially for our orchestra.
Smaller groups of players also perform for community events. We take pride in the quality of our musicianship, and we strive to continuously improve players' skills through chamber music workshops and summer chamber playing opportunities.
Our 2011 Roseville Area Community Carol Sing is at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 12 at Centennial United Methodist Church, 1524 County Road C2 W. (at Snelling) in Roseville -- please note the new venue. The evening features classic and pop holiday music, a sing-along and a guest appearance by the St. Mary's Balalaika Orchestra, followed by free holiday treats.
Our spring concert will feature Thomas Tempel, oboeist with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. The concert is at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Concordia Academy, 2400 N. Dale St., Roseville.
