You can do something to end homelessness in Minnesota and so can I! There are 4,000 people every night seeking shelter in Hennepin County.
I'm going to run a 5K with my sister, Marie, before June 30 on behalf of the homeless served by Simpson Housing Services. The Simpson Housing Run is a fundraising campaign to support runners in raising money to end homelessness in the Twin Cities.
The overall goal of the Simpson Housing Run is to register 250 runners who together raise at least $25,000 by October 4. My personal goal is to raise $500. I've never run a race in my life, except maybe at a grade school picnic! It's easy to give: Just click a contribution amount below.
If you'd also like to run to end homelessness, here's what you can do:
• Visit http://www.simpsonhousingrun.org to read all about the campaign. Then call me for help in making it happen.
• Set up your own fundraising page here, on the giveMN.org site. You'll find complete instructions on our SHR Web site if you need a bit of help setting up your own campaign page here. You can set your goal and track your fundraising progress for Simpson Housing Run!
• Become a Simpson Housing Run fan on Facebook to let us know you’re participating and link your fundraising page back to the Web site, too.
We have speakers for running clubs! For more information, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
