Orphans in China have their basic needs met, but receive little else. That's where Red Thread Charities steps in, with YOUR help.

At Red Thread Charities, we believe that every child deserves the best life possible, filled with love, laughter, fun, movement, learning and independence. Our particular concern is with the children living in Chinese orphanages, many of whom have special needs that are not addressed. Our mission:to help these children have better, happier, more independent and productive lives by training staff members and foster parents in the therapy techniques used with great success in the U. S. and Europe on children with a variety of special needs.

We do this by:

  • getting the children’s physical and mental conditions medically diagnosed;
  • training social welfare institute staff and selected foster parents in the basic techniques of physical, occupational and special education therapies; and
  • consulting on the delivery and results of these therapies.

The results of our program have been:

  • the children’s lives are much fuller and happier,
  • the daily care of the children is easier because the children are more independent; and
  • many children were able to be placed for adoption because they had received accurate diagnosis and documented therapy. Diagnosis and therapy makes it easier to write adoption referrals, and gives potential adoptive parents the kind of information that makes them more comfortable with the child’s condition.

There are so many children to who need the services that we provide. Please, help us to connect lives and create futures for these children.

    Our daughter volunteered with Red Thread on the teen service trip last summer and had an opportunity to meet some of the children who will benefit from this donation. Another daughter hopes to participate next summer. How wonderful it is for our daughters to be able to meet the children and directly connect with those needing the assistance. I hope this experience will encourage our children to be life-long givers to worthy causes.

    I love Red Thread because it helps special needs orphans and because its goal is to help orphanages see the benefits of therapy and build therapy into their standard of care.
