Ramsey Middle School opened its doors in the fall of 2012, Minneapolis Public Schools is developing a new middle school program at the Ramsey building dedicated to an innovative, urban learning experience. The new middle school has approximately 170 sixth graders in 2012-2013 and will add subsequent grades each year. Students at Hale/Field Community School and Green Central Community School also have the option to request the new middle school based on space availability. Opening a new middle school is a very exciting development in the Minneapolis Public Schools due to the fact that this idea originated through community collaboration.
