Quatrefoil does not receive any government or public dollars to support the Library.

* Helping Quatrefoil remain a great lending library

In the past year, we have circulated 5,800 items to our library members. (Most other GLBT libraries do not lend out their materials) Most items--magazines, DVD's, and archival books are not readily available at your public library or on the Internet. Whether you're working on a research paper or just looking for a good queer book to read, Quatrefoil has the resources you want, thanks to donors like you.
* Quatrefoil Library offers a safe, accessible space and seeks to end social isolation of GLBT people and allies.
Quatrefoil offers a safe place from homophobia and a place to find community. This year we hosted a writing workshop for young adults; held Black Pride readings bringing NY writers to the library; and hosted readings by local women authors. Stop by to see the Bayard Rustin history display created by local high school students. Because of your generosity we are able to be open to the public SEVEN days a week. People can read a book, use our wifi, get homework help, and research queer history, all at our library. During these tough economic times, library services and programs are more vital than ever.
* Quatrefoil Library collects, preserves and circulates GLBT materials for future researchers and readers.
Quatrefoil is committed to collecting, preserving and lending queer books to and for our community. While the publishing industry is bound by what will make money, Quatrefoil is not subject to the whims of the marketplace. We have a collection of over 20,000 items and need your dollars to ensure the preservation of queer intellectual memory and creative output.
The Library operates with volunteers, from the Board members to the desk workers. These volunteers give thousands of hours of service each year to your community GLBT library! You can support their work with a gift.
