Afton-Lakeland Elementary is one of nine elementary schools in the Stillwater school district, known as ISD 834. The school serves students in Kindergarten through grade 6. Students who attend Afton-Lakeland Elementary reside in several communities in the St. Croix Valley, including Lakeland, Lakeland Shores, St. Mary’s Point, Lake St. Croix Beach, Afton, Lake Elmo, Bayport and Woodbury.

Enrollment at Afton-Lakeland Elementary is about 500 students. Students are challenged in all curriculum areas and the school is proud of its consistently high MCA test scores, regularly placing near or at the top the district and in the top 25 percent of state scores.

Currently Afton-Lakeland’s two computer labs house approximately 60 eMac computers which are estimated to be ten years old. The IT support they receive is very limited, because there is not much that can be done to maintain or repair them. In addition, the school is 10 iPads short of a classroom supply (10 more iPads are needed to have a set of 30). But funding from the school district for technology is just not available. In today's world, A-L kids need useful technology to keep up with the competition. Our PTA is raising funds to help outfit a computer lab with new laptops as well as iPads to be used by classrooms.
