Mendota Elementary prides itself in providing an exceptional educational experience for PreK through 4th grade students.
Mendota Elementary is a neighborhood school that is part of School District 197, which serves the communities of Mendota Heights, West St. Paul, Eagan, Inver Grove Heights, Lilydale, Mendota and Sunfish Lake. Mendota Elementary serves students in kindergarten through grade four. In addition, our school offers a variety of Early Learning programs for families with pre-kindergarten children.
We focus on academics and high expectations, and it shows in our exceptional test scores and the achievements of our students. Our goal for each student is to promote life-long learning, recognize individuality, and provide challenging experiences. We link learning to real life, stressing practical applications as well as the joy of discovery. Our use of the Responsive Classroom approach helps students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally through management strategies such as morning meetings and guided discovery.
A great source of pride at Mendota Elementary is our active Parent Teacher Association. Through successful fundraising efforts and generous donations, our PTA is able to provide countless enrichment opportunities that strengthen the learning experience of each student. From field trips to technology, books to residencies, our PTA is dedicated to supporting the success of every student here at Mendota.
