Project READ

Project READ works with community partners across Itasca County to help ensure that everyone in a child’s life (including older siblings) is aware of the vital importance of reading to young children. Studies have shown that children who are read to from birth are far more likely to become successful readers when they enter school.

Project READ supports a variety of programs in our community, including the Bright Red Book Shelf project, FRED (Fathers Reading Every Day) Project and an annual book drive to encourage the sharing of children's books.

Project READ encourages and supports everyone in preparing young children to read.
