PREVENTING HARM MINNESOTA

Preventing Harm Minnesota seeks to improve the health of children in Minnesota through education and outreach, policy change and partnership development.

Chemicals harmful to human health are prevalent in everyday household and institutional cleaners. They are found in pesticides applied at schools, parks and apartment buildings. They are even found in everyday items such as water bottles, shampoos and sippy cups. Preventing Harm Minnesota believes this situation is UNACCEPTABLE! The widespread prevalence of these chemicals is responsible for the enormous increase in learning and behavioral disabilities, reproductive health disorders, asthma and even cancer among our children.

Preventing Harm Minnesota is the only non-profit in Minnesota focused exclusively on children’s environmental health. We are also unique because we effectively bridge the gap between grassroots concerns and policy decision-makers who impact the lives of each of us, including our children. We combine education, advocacy and partnerships with diverse communities to improve the well-being of children by protecting them from harmful and toxic chemicals. In the face of these significant threats we have provided educational presentations to thousands of people worked in strategic partnerships to change laws so they are more protective of children.
