Making a donation makes a big difference. You can help spread the word about sulfide mining in Minnesota with a small contribution.

This film takes a hard look at the sulfide mining industry’s history of failed predictions, toxic pollution, and the threats new mines pose to northeastern Minnesota’s lakes, rivers and streams and sustainable economy, as told through the voices of citizens, scientists and advocates.

Last time I was in the BWCA, I drank the water, I want to be able to return and do that again and I certainly wouldn't do it if there was this type of mining going on. Polymet and Franconia are run by people. People make mistakes, they WILL make mistakes and there WILL be pollution of our precious waters. I loved the silence of the BWCA. I loved hearing just the dipping of my paddle in the glistening waters. I even loved the eagle that came down and ate my fish and the moose that was on our island. Wow what a sight. No to Polymet, no to Franconia.

We all have the opportunity to become engaged in dialoque related to the imminent threat of sulfide metal mining in the state of MN. Learn more about this controversial issue, tell others about it, and support the efforts of the Friends with your donation to preserve this amazing natural place for the generations to come.

The Boundary Waters Canoe Area is one of the great wonders of the world. I was raised and live today with my family in Minnesota and canoe in the Boundary Waters every year. We have travelled around the world and whenever you tell someone you are from Minnesota almost everyone mentions they would love to or have loved travelling in the Boundary Waters in Northern Minnesota. This mining operation and company must be stopped. There should be public TV ads telling the world that this Polymet company wants to mine in and around the BWCA - this will destroy the BWCA. Let me know what more I can do to help protect the BWCA for our kids and all our future generations. -Scott and Christa Haskins

Sulfide mining near our beloved BWCAW! I think I'd rather do battle with the motorheads. We Minnesotans and Wisconsinites who love our wilderness must be vigilant. Thanks for getting the word out. I'll do my part.

Living in Northeastern MN and the watershed of the proposed sulfide mine, I am very concerned about the threat of toxic pollution to our rivers and lakes. Now is the time to take action, not after the damage is done and the mining company has moved on.

Minnesota is at a crossroads. Please help us save the Quetico-Superior ecosystem from destructive sulfide-ore mining. Such mining will provide short-term enrichment to a few at the cost of long-term, irrevocable destruction to a precious natural landscape.

Remember all the "big trees" which have fought to preserve our environment in the past, now its our turn to ensure clean water and wilderness for future generations.

The Precious Waters Project deserves the support of everyone in the United States who values the Boundary Waters. We face an emergency. Taking action isn't 'optional', it is necessary. Now is the time. ~ Phil Bratnober, St. Paul, MN.

This video was very professional. I feel so much better informed and so much more concerned than I was before viewing it. I hope that it is widely viewed. I just don't understand how the mining companies even succeeded in getting as far into this as they have....with purchasing old mines and doing core drillings. This video just says it all. This project has to be stopped asap.
