Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota
For more than 83 years, Planned Parenthood MN, ND, SD has been the leading provider and protector of reproductive health in our region.
Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota (PPMNS) is the leading provider and champion of women’s health care across Minnesota. We have been an established and respected member of this community since 1928 and we are here to stay.
PPMNS is an expert in the field of women’s health care responding to the needs of Minnesotans with education, clinical services and advocacy. We make Minnesota healthier.
Planned Parenthood offers a broad range of reproductive health care services to more than 60,000 Minnesotans each year through our 18 clinics across the state.
For more than 83 years, Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota has proudly served the heart of the Midwest. Fully 95% of our services are preventive: family planning, cancer screenings, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, and pre conception care. We offer comprehensive, affordable health care and a variety of evidence-based, age-appropriate, and culturally responsive sex education programs for women, men, teens, and parents.
As a leading provider of essential reproductive health care services for all Minnesotans, PPMNS is dedicated to anticipating, understanding, innovating and delivering on the changing needs of each of the communities we serve.
Planned Parenthood serves nearly 28,000 people each year through its Education and Outreach programs. We provide 10 intensive education programs all of which are age appropriate, culturally relevant, and evidence-based.
Planned Parenthood also engages in advocacy to advance and protect women’s health care at the local, state, and federal level. We promote sensible public policy and advocate for access to affordable health care services for men and women, regardless of income.
Planned Parenthood has a legacy of partnering with countless community-based organizations to build strong and healthy families.
More than 250,000 Minnesotans need publicly supported contraceptive care as a result of poverty or a lack of health insurance coverage.[i] The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention calls family planning one of the ten greatest public health achievements of the 20th Century, both for its impact on women, but also for its impact on the health and wellness of parents, children, and families.[ii] Planned Parenthood’s efforts, along with those of other subsidized health care providers, help prevent more than 24,000 unintended pregnancies in Minnesota every year.[iii] At clinics across Minnesota, we serve more than 60,000 people each year, more than half of whom are at or below 100% of the federal poverty level (an annual income of less than 11,000). Patients tell us that ours is often the only health care they receive all year.[iv]
We rely on philanthropic support each year to provide our current programs and services.
