Lovey has terminal cancer and a heart condition, but is thriving in her foster home thanks to the Lukas Project. Pet Project Rescue

Pet Project Rescue is a no-kill, non-profit rescue which places homeless animals in foster care homes until they are adopted.

Pet Project Rescue (PPR) is a local non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless or abandoned dogs and cats and placing them in volunteer foster homes until they are adopted by a permanent family. In addition to animal rescue, PPR is focused on reducing the homeless animal population at its source and provides spay/neuter services for pets of low income families and others in need in our community.

Pet Project Rescue is raising money on Give to the Max Day for several animals with special needs that require extraordinary veterinary care, as well as the Lukas Project, a hospice program that provides terminally ill dogs and cats facing euthanasia at local shelters with a loving, comfortable foster home, as well as specialized veterinary care.

The Lukas Project allows terminally ill animals to live their final days, weeks or months in the comfort of a loving home, instead of spending the end of their lives scared and alone at a shelter or being euthanized. Expenses for this program are high, as Lukas Project animals often require special food and supplies, as well as expensive veterinary care, prescription medications and pain relievers. With your help, PPR hopes to double the number of sick and suffering dogs and cats whose lives can be saved and improved through the Lukas Project in the next year.

In addition to our Lukas Project animals, Pet Project Rescue currently has several animals with serious injuries or medical conditions that require extraordinary veterinary costs, such as extensive lab tests, prescription medications and major surgeries. Your gift to PPR will help provide these animals with the care they need so they can live long, happy, pain-free lives.

Please support the Lukas Project and other special needs animals on Give to the Max Day! Your donation will help provide sick and injured animals with specialized veterinary care, and will help give our Lukas Project animals the love and care they deserve at the end of their life. Thank you!

On Give to the Max Day, up to $500 worth of gifts will be matched by Metro Dogs Daycare & Boarding, which offers dog daycare, overnight boarding, training and grooming services in downtown Minneapolis. Metro Dogs is dedicated to supporting animal rescue in the Twin Cities and has been a strong advocate for Pet Project Rescue. We are grateful for their generous matching gift!
