  • Feedback about the STAR program
    • From a school superintendent: "The program has a very positive effect on the tone and culture within the building. When students come back to school after their training, they are different people who have been equipped very well for leadership.
    • From representatives from the McKnight Foundation after a demonstration by a STAR Team: "...were very impressed with the maturity and confidence shown by the students...some of us learned some new skills in a very short time."
    • From students who went to a STAR retreat: "I learned how to deal with bullies." "I learned that everyone is part of the ripple and can start peace." "I learned how to be myself and respect others.

    • "Helping children and their families develop skills of nonviolent, respectful communication and conflict resolution is one of the most important contributions anyone can make to his or her community, and this is the heart of the Peacemaker Resources mission. I am honored to be in a position to support this local organization's crucial work."
      • Kit R. Christensen, Professor of Philosophy, Bemidji State University
    • "Imagine a world in which people valued respectful communication and conflicts were routinely negotiated effectively by allowing everyone to be heard and understood. Teaching children these skills and shaping school systems to honor and support these values are what Peacemakers Resources does every day. Supporting this organization directly translates to positive changes for our children and families, schools, and our workplaces."
      • Laurie Desiderato, Ph.D., LP, Professor of Psychology, Bemidji State University
    • "Peacemaker Resources offers students a format to model & teach peers. This is empowering. Students learn they can have an impact on their lives."
      • Pam Roiger, Social Studies Teacher, Bemidji Middle School Alpha Pod
