Contributions for job training fees, bus tokens and medical co-pays will turn clients' dreams of self reliance to a reality achieved.

Corday can tick off his list of short term goals: get his GED. Fulfill the requirements to get off probation. Earn some college credits. Join the Navy to access its educational opportunities. In the six months he's lived in the transitional house, he’s thrived in the structure it offers. “It helps me stay focused.”

Throughout this winter, Corday has attended classes to study for his GED 3 or 4 days a week. He hasn’t missed a single class, regardless of the snow or cold. It’s paying off. He’s advanced two grades so far. He can get to class because of contributions that make sure he has a bus pass.

For others, their dream means finding a good job. Scott attended training to learn building maintenance when his health stopped him from construction work. Donations helped with exam fees to get his state licenses. These credentials, and his own diligence, led him to find a good job. As he moved into his own apartment he was able to declaire, “This is the most confident – best I’ve felt – in 10 years. I’m really ready.”

In many ways, large and small, Cabrini Partnership nurtures our clients' steps along their pathways to self reliance. Many of our residents have lost essential documents such as birth certificates or a driver’s license needed for some jobs or education. Your donation funds the fees to obtain these. It pays for materials for a women’s empowerment class to teach communication, conflict resolution and goal-setting skills. It helps with emergency medication when a prescription runs out and a client can’t afford the co-pay.

Cabrini Partnership’s programs go well beyond giving individuals a place to live; they go beyond helping individuals become contributing members of society – they offer the opportunity for individuals to feel hope once again, to believe in themselves and to be treated with the dignity and respect they deserve. Donors help make that possible.
