Wingspan serves over 100 persons with disabilities. They are all ages, abilities and personalities . Their homes reflect their interests, tastes and favorite things.

For nearly 40 years Wingspan has provided the best of care and the warmest of environments for all who live in our 24 homes.

Several years ago one of our longtime residents celebrated her 100th birthday with us. Now a second person, Betty will be turning 100 in February, 2012. That says it all... We provide lifelong care and support for individuals with disabilities or elders

On the morning of Saturday, September 22, 2012 We're holding our annual Made in the Shade Walk, Run, Roll fundraiser at Thomas Beach on Lake Calhoun! This is a very fun event and all funds raised by Wingspan go directly to the people we serve. As the title states, you can walk, run, or roll the 5k (three mile) trail around Lake Calhoun. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and the event start time is 10:00 a.m.

Breakfast snacks, coffee, and water are provided before the race. A celebration follows the walk with a lunch, water, and fun music by the Moss Piglets. T-shirts are given to participants who collect $25 or more in pledges. Everyone registered will also receive a race number. To pre-register go to www.madeintheshade.org.

If you can't join us, we hope you'll support Made in The Shade by sending a gift to Wingspan by supporting my walk. All proceeds raised by Wingspan directly benefit the people we serve. Each Wingspan home decides how to use the funds they've raised. Some of the items purchased last year include Wii Fit equipment, patio and lawn furniture, furniture, and help with vacation funding.
