Opportunity Partners is thrilled to announce a $10,000 matching challenge gift on November 16 - Give to the Max Day. On November 16, every dollar Opportunity Partners receives up to $10,000 will be matched dollar for dollar. The donor, who wishes to remain anonymous, is a long-time Opportunity Partners family.

The talents of Opportunity Partners staff make a difference every day in the lives of the people we support. Here is an excerpt from Michael's mom.

"I heard my son singing in his room the other night. I found him dancing to his iPod and singing along to a song.

While this might not seem to be an out of the ordinary experience to other parents, to the parent of someone with special needs this was amazing. It had never happened before.

Later, I mentioned I had seen him singing and dancing and asked if there was a special occasion for this. He replied, "Mom, I am just a happy kid."

I stepped away before he could see the tears in my eyes.

Looking back over the last year since Michael started at Opportunity Partners, I realize that a transformation has occurred. Michael's transition from his school program has been wonderful. He is happy and is becoming increasingly independent in his skills at home.

He is proud of his work at Opportunity Partners and shares his day with us. This is an amazing change in him and I thank you for this. I have a calm and happy son on his way to an independent life. Thank you for everything you do for Michael and for me."
