Engaging kids and teens in learning about history ranks among our most
Swords, armor and knightly combat often easily capture the attention of kids
and teens. But the greatest satisfaction comes from then drawing youths into
discussions about ideas of who they are and the choices they get to make in
We tap into the timeless power of stories of chivalry, history and heroes to
exemplify these ideas. The Song of Roland, for instance, powerfully
illustrates how each of us can overcome the pressures and difficulties
encountered in life to accomplish the seemingly impossible. We teach that
each individual, regardless of circumstances, possesses the ability to take
as much courage from life as needed. The concept of an unlimited supply of
courage helps empower youths to make better choices and deal with
difficulties they face.

lessons into their everyday lives will make their world a better place.
