The Northland Foundation serves Northeast Minnesota with grants to nonprofits, business loans, assisted living, and its KIDS PLUS program.
Through its grants to nonprofits, loans to small businesses, KIDS PLUS Program, and assisted living for older adults, the Northland Foundation has been a partner to the people, businesses, and communities in northeastern Minnesota since 1986.
The Northland’s Grant Program has awarded more than $24 million to nonprofit organizations in the region that share the priorities of connecting kids and community, strengthening families, promoting self-reliance and dignity for all people, and helping older adults age with independence.
Tens of thousands of children and youth have been impacted by our KIDS PLUS Program, which includes an array of grassroots initiatives to improve the well-being of children and youth, from birth to adulthood.
In order to thrive, a community needs a solid economic base and good jobs. A unique strength of the Northland Foundation is our ability to lend to small businesses. Since 1988, we have closed more than 450 loans totaling over $48 million, which has led to over 6,500 jobs created or saved in our region.
Northland Assisted Living is a nonprofit LLC of the Northland Foundation and provides welcoming places for older adults to live while also receiving the care and assistance they need. Northland Village Assisted Living Communities are located in the small towns of McGregor, Buhl, and Hoyt Lakes.
With the help of engaged community members and donors who believe in our mission, the Northland Foundation continues to grow as a resource and advocate for northeastern Minnesota!
