All people. All arts. All night. A free, participatory public art festival from dusk to dawn on June 9–10, 2012.
Like an art comet that blazes through the night sky once a year, Northern Spark enters the Twin Cities’ orbit on Saturday, June 9, uniting two cities and bringing together a multitude of artists, art projects, arts organizations, and venues in a confluence of culture and nature.
All media, all night: performance, visual arts, moving image, new media, interactive events.
Your support of Northern Spark will create community capital and urban vibrancy. Help us to:
June 2011 marked the debut of Northern Spark Festival, a magical first for Minnesota. Throughout one night, there were 50,000 visits to more than 100 installations and performances presented by 200 artists in partnership with 60 organizations in 34 locations. From the opening ceremonies on the Stone Arch Bridge to the banks of Harriet Island, the Twin Cities came alive, animated by the magic of discovery, the elixir of the imagination, and the celebration of a community illuminated by art.
