These two fascinations lead me to the study of acting, voice and teaching with some of the most amazing and gifted professionals in their fields with the hopes of one day bringing that knowledge back to my hometown of Hastings, MN. My grandfather, L.J. Mission:

Reflected in Vernant’s quote is the mission of NewBridge Theatre Company. The Company uses multi-disciplined arts whose goal is to bridge across culture and imagination through storytelling. NewBridge is committed to providing a quality educational experience through workshops, individual training and internships for the purpose of providing the young artist a passage over any obstacle into a free creative existence.

The bridge reminds us that if we get creative, think out of the box, or simply become more aware of our own selves, the gap between the conscious, and creative intuitive joins together.

NewBridge Theatre Company combines a physical and improvisational rehearsal process centered on a professional ensemble with training in theatre, dance, music, playwriting, media, and technical arts while maintaining a foundation in professionalism and nurturing educational experiences.

NewBridge Theatre Company will provide professional educational opportunities for students in many mediums of the arts including acting, voice, dance, and visual arts as well as a venue for local artists to display their works. Samples of classes for ages 5-adult to be offered at the NewBridge Theatre Company Studio include: Adventures in Theatre, Yoga for the Creative Mind, Creative Movement, Acting, First-Time Ballet, Modern Dance, Private Voice lessons, Dance for Moms, Acting for the Camera, Audition Techniques, Beginning Shakespeare, Intermediate Shakespeare, Beginning Watercolor Technique, and Advanced Watercolor Technique. NewBridge will be located in a historic building in the downtown Hastings area. We are looking to create a 200 seat conversion space, a small art gallery, concession stand, workshop space for educational classes, as well as a rentable space for receptions, parties and events. Long term goals are to convert the entire building into a theater and educational studio.

NewBridge Theatre Company is on a fundraising campaign in order to provide this professional artists space to Hastings with the best renovations for the building keeping in mind it’s historical impact on the community. We ultimately need to fundraise $300,000 to reach our goal. Funds will go toward utilities, refurbished maple floor, seating for 200, lighting, sound, electrical equipment, paint, signage, and overall conversion of the space. We are also looking for in-kind donations of construction materials, costume materials, paint, flooring, contractors, electricians, promotional materials, office equipment, and seating.
