LADYSLIPPER baroque (ladyslipperbaroque.com), consisting of award winning musicians (Gorgeous diva,Sahar Hassan, virutuoso Baroque violinist, Margaret Humphrey and award winning composer and harpsichordist, Asako Hirabayashi) ushers audiences beyond the realm of tradition with spirited interpretations in intimate settings, as the performers serve up a spicy blend of baroque infused with hints of jazz, Latin and contemporary music. Asako Hirabayash is an award winning composer. She frequently compose music just for LADYSLIPPER baroque. In fact, in March of 2012, LADYSLIPPER premiered one of Asako's compositions at the Alienor International Harpsichord Composition Competition and won first prize and the audience choice award! Our guests are internationally acclaimed artists, members of the Saint Paul Chamber and Minnesota Orchestras as well as some of the best chamber musicians in the Twin Cities.

Our mission is to provide the highest quality of music in small venues and increase the general public’s awareness and appreciation of concerts with historical instruments, through making our music available and accessible for everyone. We do this by advancing contemporary repertoire using baroque instruments, to make our performances more diverse through collaborating with Jazz, Latin, Arabic and other ethnic musicians and dancers, to remove boundaries between classical and non-classical music, and draw more audiences from all walks of life. Since we formed in 2011, we have given 16 free concerts open to the general public in Twin Cities area.

We have donated all performance fees, comission fees, guest artists fees and all other expenses for those free concerts in the 2011-2012 season. Our venues included churches, concert halls, the Schubert Club Court Room Series, schools, private homes, Bryant Lake Bowl Theater, the Hennepin Government Plaza, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Minneapolis Farmers Market, Coffee Ground in St. Paul and so on. We also have invited special education classes from public schools. In order for us to continue to serve our community, we need your help!!!
