MPLS.TV (Minneapolis Television)
A fundraiser supporting Springboard for the Arts
In June of 2009 MPLS.TV was born with the hopes of spotlighting the unique culture of Minneapolis by featuring local artists, musicians and businesses in an entertaining and insightful way. By the end of 2009 MPLS.TV had put together an unprecedented season of 5 half hour episodes.
Since its inception in June 2009, MPLS.TV has been internally funded with a limited budget. In order to continue growing MPLS.TV needs public support. Proceeds will go towards expanding and improving coverage of the local arts scene. MPLS.TV has featured local artists, including Jeremy Messersmith, Peter Wolf Crier and Phil Vandervoort in "City of Music". "City of Music" is a series of music videos recording musicians in alternative venues, such as Isles Bun & Coffee and a downtown Minneapolis Skyway. Increased funding will result in the increased exposure of Minneapolis artists, aiding in the continued growth and development of Minneapolis's artistic community.
"Working on MPLS.TV is very exciting", says MPLS.TV Executive Producer Chris Cloud. "It gives the collective contributors an opportunity to showcase Minneapolis's wide variety of artistic endeavors in a unique and creative way."
Mission:
MPLS.TV spotlights the unique culture of Minneapolis by featuring local artists, musicians and businesses in an entertaining and insightful way. Through the mediums of local television and interactive online content, MPLS.TV aims to foster a sustainable community of creativity and growth.
