The Minnesota Institute of Public Health (MIPH) promotes public health by collaborating with communities to provide prevention services.

“Thank you, MIPH, for your helpfulness. For your responsiveness. For being there!”

“You do really, really good work, because first, you listen.”

These are comments our staff hear almost every day from our clients and constituencies as we focus on bridging public health research and community practice. For 38 years, MIPH has helped make a difference in the lives of educators dedicating their efforts toward healthy kids, parents trying to set family guidelines, communities to address issues of concern, and government units, wanting to lead and be helpful.

As a friend of MIPH and its many state, federal, foundation and fee-for-service projects, you likely know us by any number of names: Minnesota Prevention Resource Center, the Central Center for the Application of Prevention Technologies, Problem Gambling Prevention services, Evaluation services, Avert Center for Safer Schools, Health Promotion Resources, and Change Direction. Virtually every voice in the Health Care Reform dialog of today emphasizes the value, sense, and critical importance of effective prevention.

MIPH strives to maintain a strong and stable public health presence. We believe you may have interest in helping us do that and we ask for your gift.

A gift of any amount will be gratefully received, tax-deductible, and helpful. Please give what is a meaningful amount to you and count on MIPH to communicate how that gift makes a difference. See examples of how your gift can make a difference under the Make a Donation bar along the right.

Please visit our website, which profiles MIPH’s important work, and a summary of our three-year strategic plan, so you can stay informed and aware of our work. As a donor you will receive a copy of MIPH’s Annual Report when it becomes available, and will be kept informed of our activities, and ways to stay connected.

Like many non-profits in this economy, MIPH often gives more value in services than it receives, but helping clients make a difference in their communities creates a value that is less easily measured!

You help leaders in Minnesota and beyond promote and sustain better community health. Keep up the great work.
