E-Democracy.org builds local community by strengthening participation and democracy online.

Join E-Democracy on Nov. 16 for Give to the Max Day—the Great Minnesota Give Together!

Your crucial donations will be used to expand inclusive outreach for our volunteer-based Neighborhood Issues Forums.

We've set up two ways to give and both qualify for our Give to the Max Day matching grant!

Give here on this page for your donation to support E-Democracy inclusive outreach efforts across all forums.

OR, select a team member and 80% of your contribution will go to support THAT forum's inclusive outreach!

Give to the Max Day donations will help us:

  • Reach out to new and diverse voices.
  • Support our strong civility-based discussion model that encourages community building and civic engagement.
  • Improve the support and training we provide to forum participants and our dedicated volunteers.
  • Share our lessons openly and widely and help new communities get started with the effective Issue Forum model.
  • Host forums in an independent, neutral manner using ever-improving open source technology not reliant on advertising-based technologies or less desirable privacy or copyright practices.

90% of our operating costs are covered by volunteers and donated resources. Your donation leverages these assets to promote online civic engagement across our many diverse communities.

The battle for democracy will be won or lost in our local communities. E-Democracy is helping us win the battle by creating the public spaces for our conversations about our communities.

E-democracy allows local communities to discuss the issues that are important to it, like a small town meeting, using the internet. It also provides the same opportunity for larger cities and regions.

E-Democracy authentically works with communities to create forums where people engage on issues important to them and help shape their community's future. Invest to help support these growing efforts!

E-Democracy is one of the best ways to address and discuss local issues. I think this is especially true in rural areas where the options for news and discussion are far more limited.

Many suburbs, commonly thought of as populated by middle class folk, have large pockets of poverty and areas where English is a second language. This is especially true of inner-ring suburbs.

E-democracy is an excellent tool for helping to create on-line civic engagement. Both the range and depth of the topics on the Powderhorn e-democracy forum has been impressive. Check it out at www.e-democracy.org/poho.

E-Democracy.org is a world leader in the field of bottom-up online participation - and people in places as far off as the UK and New Zealand are rolling out their local versions of the E-Democracy.org issues forum model. Well worth the investment in my book....start local, go global!

it's a great effort, the website is very thoughtful, in particular the supporting materials for forum initiators. I hope it becomes more widespread, the world will be a better place.
